MEET YOUR AMELIA ISLAND NATIVE GUIDE

Nick Deonas has never lived anywhere but Amelia Island, Florida.

His grandfather Mike Tiliakos arrived in 1912 , and his father, Demetrios (Jimmy) arrived from Greece in 1941, both boatbuilders.

Nick grew up in the boat building industry and his family built hundreds of boats for customers up and down the East Coast.

Today, Nick is the last wooden boat builder left in Fernandina Beach.

Step back into history with Amelia Island Footprints and enjoy all the local back stories that only Nick can tell!

This is our "why".

The history of the shrimping industry in Fernandina Beach must not be lost!
